What an incredible opportunity we have! The 31st District is ready for an important change. With the help of the voters of what is also known as the River District, I intend to provide responsive leadership in the Oregon House of Representatives for our communities. I'm ready to represent you, and I would be honored to receive your support.
I'm a Democrat. I intend to earn the Democratic nomination in May 2010 and then win the general election in the fall. I have no doubt that together we'll do just that.
I take this seriously, and I'm taking the time to get to know you. And I want you to know me a little better, to understand what inspires me to serve you. I believe that there are some basic values that we share. On this website and face to face I'll share my views and listen to yours.

I’m ready to serve the people of the River District – which stretches along the Columbia River from Astoria to Sauvie Island, and inland to Vernonia.
I’m committed to providing energetic and imaginative leadership while representing our common interests. There won’t be consensus on every issue, but I’ll do my best to be clear and honest about every position that I take.
I'm running because I believe that we can have:
* Jobs that last, in industries that are appropriate for the heritage and environment of our district.
* A comprehensive energy strategy for Oregon that encourages renewable development and moves us swiftly away from fossil fuels. LNG import is unacceptable.
* Universal access to high quality, affordable health-care.
* Access to excellent and relevant education for all stages of life.
I believe that I can contribute effectively to the solutions that build upon the best qualities of Oregon, and create a healthy and prosperous future.
